Introduction

Master of Environmental Forensic program is designed to develop your understanding on the source of human activity derived pollutants, their transport through key ecosystems and their subsequent impacts on society. Through a range of modules, you will spend time for lectures, discussing and investigating solutions to the environment ‘crime scene’, analysing samples in state-of-the-art labs and simulating environmental processes. In the final semester you will design your own project with guidance from our experts, developing the specialist skills for your professional development in environmental forensic and management. Potential career paths for our Environmental Forensic graduates include management roles in the environmental, enforcement, research and education sectors.

Entry Requirements

Bachelor's Degree

A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent, as accepted by the Senate.
A bachelor’s degree with CGPA 2.00 - 2.49 may be accepted subject to a minimum 5 years of working experience in a related field and rigorous internal assessment.
Candidates without a qualification or working experience in related fields must undergo prerequisite courses determined by the faculty/institute/centre.

Note: 1 year of working experience is equivalent to 0.1 CGPA.

APEL

Applicants who have passed the APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) assessment in the relevant field are eligible for admission to the Master’s level programme (Level 7 MQF).
The APEL assessment must be endorsed by MQA.
Applicants must submit the APEL Certificate issued by MQA before the admission process can be completed.

Important Notes:

International applicants must demonstrate proficiency through one of the tests listed above.
Candidates with academic qualifications from institutions using English as the full medium of instruction may apply for exemption (Subject to Senate approval).
Exemption is generally granted for candidates from official English-speaking countries.
Conditional offers may be issued, requiring candidates to fulfill the English requirement within one (1) year of enrollment.
Specific study programs may require higher scores based on professional standards.
